Bathtub leaks and has no warranty., February 18, 2012 This review is from: 61" Free Standing Oak Wood Bath with Cusion (Misc.) This review is for a different model ALFI bathtub, but the information is still relevant to all the ALFI wooden tubs.
I purchased this ALFI bathtub after calling ALFI direct and being transferred to their retail division, Blue Bath. The shipping was quick and it arrived with no shipping damage. After opening the crate, I immediately noticed that there were several cracks in the top rail of the tub and the top steel band had fallen out of place. I put the band back in place and tightened it up. None of the cracks extend all the way to the interior of the tub, but they are very obvious. One of them even had evidence of wood filler in it, underneath the finish. It must have began to crack during manufacture. This bothered me somewhat, but it wasn't a deal breaker. Being an experienced wood worker, I am very aware of the limitations of building anything out of wood, and not ending up with some minor flaw.
