The paper is high quality, does not bleed through for fountain pens, and the lines do no distract my writing as the standard blue/black graph paper would.
Prior to using the Whitelines series, I've also used the Moleskine Professional A4 notebooks (in plain and lined) and while they were nice, I felt that the light blue lines discouraged me from drawing (cells, organs and molecular structures in my case) and the plain one left me writing on a slant if I was in a hurry.
Thus, when switching over to Whitelines, I chose this hard wire version over the hardbound because it folds over and the compactness is great for taking notes on a small deskspace in the lecture hall. And I absolutely love it.
I HIGHLY recommend this to anyone who cares about taking beautiful notes and creating quality notebooks for your classes.

Personally, I'm an avid insight-recorder, and I thoroughly write down ever idea, insight, thought, and diagram I think of or ponder about.
I absolutely LOVE the concept of "white lines" - they truly do disappear! And at the same time, they allow for perfect guidance when you want to draw a straight line, box, or chart.
What I love the most is the over-sized paper stock - bigger than most standard notebooks - perfect for extended diagrams and thoughts. And this Hard Wire spiral binding is perfect for dual sided, closed notebook, flat note taking!
It works on all color ballpoint pens. I recommend ordering the following pens for serious notetaking:
